Naviate for Revit 2019.1 Update 2

Improvements to all products

Edit Parameters

We have made several improvements:

  • It is now possible to edit parameters on additional categories; for example Title Blocks.

The Element Type drop down show the same Categories as Naviate Filter – All Elements option. Only categories found in the project are displayed.

  • You can change Mark or Number parameter on elements within a group
  • It is possible to Cancel the operation when selecting wrong category or instance instead of type

  • No category is pre-selected when starting the tool to improve performance.

Project Clean-up

We have fixed an issue with cleaning non work shared projects in Revit 2019.1

Renumber Elements

We have made the following improvements:

  • Last used renumber option (Selecting Objects or Spline) is remembered and set as default when starting the tool again
  • You are informed how many elements that will be renumbered when using Spline option

Color Elements

We have fixed some issues regarding selecting a View Template to add filters to.

Shared Coordinates

We have fixed an issue with small changes on large coordinates; parameter was not updated if the difference was very small.

Naviate Architectural

Door/Window Tools

It is now possible to include any Door/Window or Room parameter in “Door/Window Mark”.

We have made the following changes:

  1. The Mark feature is renamed to Unique identifier because you can select what parameter to write to and don’t have to use Mark
  2. You can now select additional parameters to include in the unique identifier. Select from Door/Window Instance or Type parameters or Room parameters.
  3. You can define which included Parameter to use for defining the “scope” for sequence numbering. Use ‘Auto detect’ option to let the tool detect scope from selected Basic parameters as it used to work.

Note! When using Additional parameters in a project make sure all project members have this version installed. If someone in the project use an earlier version of Naviate Architecture and run Update Door/Window these parameters will not be included.

We have also fixed an issue with updating Windows having “CQSwingDirection” as a Type parameter

Door/Window Drawings Improvements

We have added the ability to place multiple door/window types on a single sheet and made it easier to use the tool.

We have made the following changes:

  1. Allow selecting what Title Block to use (default values for Types per row and Rows per sheet are calculated from the size of the selected sheet)
  2. You can now define how many doors/windows types that should be placed on a sheet by configuring Rows and Columns. Entering 1 Type per row and 1 Row per sheet still allow you to create one sheet per type and add a schedule for each door type to the sheet.
  3. You can specify browser location for the created Sheets
  4. Interior and Exterior Doors/Windows can be placed on separate Sheets
  5. You can specify start Sheet number for both Exterior and Interior Sheets
  6. Properties displayed under the Legend view are updated when running Door/ Window Update (no need to rerun Door/Window Drawings to update properties on the Sheets)

Room Drawings Improvements

We have made the following improvements:

  1. You can filter out what rooms to see in the list by Name. (You can filter on other parameters as well by entering parameter name “:” search string like “Level: Floor 1”
  2. You can specify to either create four sections (North, East, West & South) or create one section for each Wall longer than entered distance. Sections created for each wall are rotated along the wall.
  3. It is possible to specify the offset for crop region on the section views
  4. Added an option to draw a boundary around the extents of the view on the sheet
  5. Last used settings is remembered

Note! When saving a setting in this version it will not be visible for other users in the project using an earlier version of Naviate Architecture. Make sure all project members have this version installed.

Create Zone Area

We have fixed an issue with overlapping lines that could be created if the “Zone” spans multiple stories

Room Surface

We have fixed an issue with selecting Sheet template to use that could cause an error.

Naviate Electrical

Draw Cable Improvements

We have made the following improvements:

  1. Enable Work plane as a guide grid to snap to when drawing cable by picking points. (Rotate it and set wanted Spacing for your need)
  2. Use Radial Guide Grid to snap to for drawing the cable with predefined angle
  3. Ability to have previous end point adjusted when drawing cables by picking points without using Radial Guide Grid
  4. Show tick mark option to get tick mark on one of the created wires between device

Circuit Numbering

We have fixed an issue with updating devices belonging to a Group.

Naviate HVAC & Plumbing

Center Line

We have fixed an issue when adding Center Lines and having Dependent Views

Naviate Structure

Rebar Numbering

We have made improvements based on user feedback and improvements in Rebar functionality in Revit 2019:

  1. You can now specify additional information for each “partition” that will be included in the Excel Schedule when exporting. It is also possible to select logo to use instead of creating a separate template for each project.
  2. Irregular Varying Rebar Sets can now be exported to Excel and Xml. They are exported as individual rebar with a prefix added to the Number (a-z, aa-zz)
  3. Freeform Rebar can now be exported to Excel and Xml.
  4. Free form rebar with “custom” shape are now included in Rebar Numbering and can be exported.
  5. Note! Rebar Shapes must use the same parameter names as the configured standard to show correct dimensions in the rebar list.
  6. Updated Norwegian Excel templates based on customer feedback

Steel Detailing

Modifications to steel elements done by the new Modifiers and Parametric Cuts in Revit 2019 are recognized by Steel Detailing.

Naviate Site & Landscaping

Modify Slope on Floors

We have implemented a “smart” Floor Slope Arrow that allow you to modify slopes on floor elements by defining start elevation and slope or end elevation.

Multiple Floor Slope Arrows can be added to a floor and connected to each other.

Key features:

  1. Updates a floor automatically when adding, moving or changing a Floor Slope Arrow
  2. Supports defining start elevation and slope or start elevation and end elevation (two different types of the family)
  3. Elevations and Slope parameters on the Floor Slope Arrow follow project Units but can be entered in any unit using postfix. For example 300mm and 2%.
  4. Supports chains of slope arrows where the slope arrow share start/end point. A change on one of the slope arrows affect the others that share start/end point
  5. Supports tree structure of slope arrows where the slope arrows share start/end point. A change on one of the slope arrows affect the others that share start/end point
  6. You can start a new slope arrow from any point at another slope arrow and get correct start elevation. Update of a chain of slope arrows connected to any point at another slope arrow works in one direction.
  7. Start & End Elevation and Slope are displayed in plan view but can be turned off. Slope can be shown in %, ratio or degrees
  8. Allows manual update of individual Floor Slope Arrows to avoid removing manually added sub elements on the floor
